Save the Children was the first global movement for children, boldly declaring that children have rights [1]. Today, they champion the rights of the world’s 2.3 billion children. And their impressive track record shows:

1) They are global leaders in child health, education and protection. 2) They use donations efficiently and effectively.

3) They are transforming the way emergency care is delivered, putting world-class health professionals to work for children in crisis anywhere in the world within 72 hours.

4) They champion gender equality, recently earning the first nonprofit Gender Fair certification.

Programs

Health Programs - Save the Children is a global leader in child health. Today, they are supporting frontline health workers and providing education and hygiene supplies to help families and communities protect themselves against COVID-19 and stay healthy.

Education Programs - Save the Children ensures children are educated. With the global pandemic and changes to everyday life, they are supporting distance learning, ensuring that children who rely on school meal programs don’t go hungry and advocating to ensure children’s right to an education.

Protection Programs - Save the Children was the first global organization devoted solely to protecting children from harm. They are doing whatever it takes to keep the most vulnerable children safe from risks now heightened during the pandemic.

Emergency Response - Save the Children is the global leader in child-focused humanitarian response. They have been a lifeline for families fleeing violence in Syria, Venezuela, Myanmar and dozens of other crises around the world, and are currently protecting children from the unique risks because of COVID-19.

Policy and Advocacy - Save the Children works to ensure children’s voices are heard, their rights are realized and their issues are given top priority, and are a leading expert on childhood that U.S. policymakers look to at home and abroad.

Child Sponsorship - Save the Children now offers child sponsorship in the U.S. and around the world. They forge local partnerships to provide tools that empower entire communities to better support their children’s health, education, protection and growth.

Why We Chose Them?

Charity Navigator Score

We chose to donate to Save The Children because they have an 'Exceptional' score by Charity Navigator, evidenced by the fact that 86.4% of the total budget goes towards their mission to aiding children - only 5.4% of the total budget goes towards administrative expenses and 8.0% towards fundraising expenses [2].
